Nest Boxes

It's just about nest box season again!  EOSC is working with Ducks Unlimited to provide nest boxes to landowners on or near wetlands to increase the nesting potential for wood ducks, mergansers and other wildlife (they are often also used by owls!).  If you know someone who would be interested in free nest boxes in exchange for monitoring the box once a year and reporting activity, please let us know!

hey now we're getting somewhere!

We are building up more and more steam!  We are working with a growing number of keen landowners on multiple projects.  Fencing to keep cattle out of water bodies and wetlands in one thing we are working on with a few landowners.  There are great cost-sharing opportunities for this if you would like to do the same- just call!

And we're off!

The first batch of letters to landowners went in the mail today.  We are excited to start working with people and improving and protecting our wonderful landscape!  If you are one of the landowners who received a letter, just call us and we can talk about what YOU want to do on your property!  Didn't get a letter but are in the general Eastern Lake Ontario Region?  We'd be happy to talk to you, too!

  • We are happy to be talking to Frontenac Stewardship Council about the possibility they will be joining the collaborative.
  • October 2nd has been confirmed as our first event date- watch for details in the coming months.

  • Excitement is building!

getting our ducks in a row

Things are moving along well with the project.  Plans and letters are being finalized, GIS mapping is complete, a logo is almost ready...  very soon we will start sending out letters to other organizations and after that to landowners telling them about EOSC and what we are hoping to accomplish.  If you want to know more now, you don't have to wait for a letter- just call!
